Limited Kubernetes exposure (used managed platforms). Would need about two weeks to ramp on a self-managed cluster.

Recommendation

Hire for a senior backend / ML role. Pair with an infra-strong teammate if the role is infra-heavy.

Pass for a senior distributed-systems role. Could fit a mid backend role with mentorship. We told the client why, so they did not spend a full interview loop finding out.
