The Challenge
TechStart GmbH was struggling with a legacy jQuery-based e-commerce platform built in 2015. The platform was slow (4.2s average load time), difficult to maintain, and provided a poor mobile experience with only 1.2% mobile conversion rate. They were losing customers to competitors with modern, fast-loading sites. The codebase had accumulated significant technical debt, making new feature development extremely slow and risky.
Our Solution
We assembled a team of 4 senior React developers to completely rebuild the platform using Next.js 13 with server-side rendering. We implemented a modern design system based on Tailwind CSS, optimized performance through code splitting and lazy loading, created a seamless mobile-first experience, and integrated with their existing PostgreSQL database and Stripe payment system. The project included comprehensive testing, gradual migration strategy, and team training.
